Obituary of Beatrice DeWolfe Brooks

Beatrice (DeWolfe) Brooks, wife of the late Donald Brooks and Thomas Carsello died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at home. Born April 2, 1925 in Salem, CT, daughter of the late Walter and Dora Winters Lee DeWolfe, she had lived in Glastonbury since 1986. In 1944 Beatrice attended the Connecticut Institute of Haridressing and Beauty Culture Academy graduating at the top of her class with an advanced degree in hair styling.  Bea was the class president and voted most popular.  Beatrice was an accomplished business women, she owned and operated a beauty salon in West Hartford before retiring. Bea enjoyed gardening, traveling and most of all fellowshipping with family and friends.  She is predeceased by her sisters Marilyn Joan and Beverly.  She is survived by her sister Evelyn Vann of East Hartford, her nieces and nephews Robin Carpenter, Deborah Soulia, Thomas Manwaring, Christopher Vann, Carol Vann, Tamara Lee Hunter, a step daughter Donna J. Brooks, her Southgate family and several grandnieces and grandnephews. A special thank you to Kevin O’Connor and Heaven’s Hands for your kindness and assistance.   Funeral service will be held Sunday Dec. 23 at 2:00pm in the Congregational Church of Salem, 224 Hartford Rd. (Rt. 85), Salem. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Lyme. There are no calling hours.
