Rian once addressed a letter to “Aunt Leslie and Uncle Ned, Damariscotta, Maine.” We received mail at the post office in Bristol Mills where we lived...but that letter reached us!

Dear McKeag Family,
I am sorry for your tremendous loss. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing your son for several years while he worked at Gideon Welles school as a greeter. Rian was quite shy but worth the effort to get to know. Intelligent and kind, he will be missed.
My deepest condolences,
Ralph Lagana

Rian was one of my best friends in high school, and even though we regretfully lost touch over the years, I still thought about him often. I remember discovering new music together, taking frequent trips to Wendy's, and making homemade videos for school projects and just for fun. He could always cheer me up and make me laugh. At the same time, we had many deep, sincere conversations during those awkward teen years. I think he was truly one-of-a-kind.
My heart goes out to Mr. and Mrs. McKeag, Sean, and the rest of his family. During this difficult time, I pray you receive comfort and support. May Rian's memory live on forever.

Rian was such a kind and soft spoken gentle soul. He worked with many of my students during his very first year at Wapping. I loved his humor (once I figured it out) and appreciated his passion that he put towards each of my EL students. We became fast friends and it is with a heavy heart that I now must cope with his passing. I believe Rian is flying amongst the angels as he awaits his next adventure in the heavens. We miss your smile, your determination and I miss our enjoyable talks!
