Obituary of Francis Richards
Francis J. Richards, 74, of South Glastonbury, beloved husband of Frances (Dondero) Richards, died Sunday September 2, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. Born September 6, 1937 in Hartford, son of the late James and Mary (Roverano) Richards, he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. He owned and operated Richards Service Station in South Glastonbury. Fran was a member and former Captain of Company #2 in South Glastonbury, a member of the Matson Hill Community Club and the P.O.C. He enjoyed farming and snowplowing and was always there to help anybody in need. Fran's greatest pleasure was his service station where he had spent the past 60 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Richards and her fiance Arthur Staples, Donna Walstedt and her husband Sean, a brother Eugene Richards and his wife Rosemarie, a brother-in-law Frank Dondero all of Glastonbury and four grandchildren; Julia, Emily, Owen and Brandon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 7 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Thursday Sept. 6 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., P.O.
