Obituary of Vincent W. Buccheri
Vincent Buccheri, 89, of Glastonbury passed peacefully March 13th to join the love of his life, his beloved late wife of 65 years, Jeanne who passed in February 2017. Vincent was born on June 3, 1928 in Manhattan NY the son of the late Rose (Blondini) and Nunzio Buccheri. Vincent and Jeanne were both avid golfers and part of the original Glastonbury Hills Country Club. They were active members until their 60’s when the “Hills” got too big and they switch to Manchester Country Club where they both played in to their 80’s. Vincent loved sleeping late (if he didn’t have an early tee time), dancing with “His Girl”, pasta and traveling the open road but was always home for dinner promptly at 6. He enjoyed his off seasons playing golf, going south to get away from the snow and … playing golf. Although he loved his ‘red heads’ Vincent spent his entire life surrounded by blondes. Vincent was a manufacturers’ representative selling women’s sportswear to Jordan Marsh, Filenes, Macys, and other top stores in the Northeast. Until his dying day he was a true fashionista. Vincent was known for dressing sharp every day of his life. Never one to rest on his laurels, in his retirement he worked many part time jobs but his most memorable was as a bus driver for Glastonbury Schools. Although he hasn’t driven for quite a while they are still telling “Vinny” stories at the yard. He is survived by his three daughters Kathleen Buccheri, Michelle and Kent Cavanaugh, Lisa and Michael Patenaude all of Glastonbury. He also leaves four amazing grandchildren; Kent (Kacey) Cavanaugh II of Speedway IN, Neal and Kali Cavanaugh, Meredith Patenaude and Mary Patenaude all of Glastonbury. Heartfelt thanks go out to the entire staff of Glastonbury Health Care Center for their excellent care of both Jeanne and Vincent. Special thanks for their primary care givers Vilma, Jessica, Darcy, Tom, Kathleen, Kim, Caroline and Jamie. A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 10:00 am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, 2112 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
