Obituary of Ronald L. Andrews

Ronald L. Andrews, 80, of Glastonbury, CT, beloved husband of 52 years to Janis (Strattman) Andrews, died January 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Marlborough, CT, November 12, 1943, to the late Kenneth and Rita Mae (Coppell) Andrews. He spent most of his life in Glastonbury.

Throughout his life, Ron’s family and home life were his lifeline.  His children remember him bringing a lot of laughter into the home. His kind and calm demeanor were comforting to all who met him.

Ron owned Glastonbury Grinding, a private business for over 20 years where he specialized in the skill of mechanical engineering doing business for Sikorsky and Pratt Whitney.

Ron was sober for 21 years and proudly dedicated his time and loyalty to support others in recovery.  His spirituality, gratitude, and acceptance led him to living and sharing his life and wisdom with so many others, especially his family.

Besides his dedicated wife, Ron is survived by his children Kristin Pontarelli, husband John and son Roman; Karen Capone, husband Garrett and their children Kyra and Caitlyn; Ron Andrews, wife Dalci and twins Stella and Ronnie; Jennifer Cooper, husband Matt and children Brooke and Jack, and his sister Sharon Crane. Without a blink of an eye, Ron welcomed Heather Parzuchowski, the daughter of his wife’s dear friend, to live with them during her highschool years and treated her as another daughter. Besides his parents Ron was predeceased by his older brothers Gary Andrews and Kenneth Andrews.

Ron will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by those whose lives have been touched by him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26 at 12noon in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Visiting hours will be from 10 to 12 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital because Ron loved helping children.
