Obituary of Donald Edward Klatt

Donald Edward Klatt, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Manchester Rehab on Sunday, January 17, 2026.

Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Waldie) Klatt. Donald was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He worked at Pratt and Whitney for several years as well as working in masonry.

Surviving are his beloved companion and best friend Carolyn Sartoris of Glastonbury, his sister and brother-in-law Marjorie (Klatt) and Chester Gehman of East Hartford, his loving and caring stepchildren Kathy Savage and Mike Savage as well as three other stepchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donald loved to be at Belltown Hill Orchards, where he worked and loved to be with his niece Cynthia Preli and Donald Preli. He was loved by many and will be missed forever. Donald and Carolyn enjoyed bowling and traveling together. His hobbies were woodworking, building bird houses and gardening.
