I just found out this morning via Facebook that your mom passed away. What a wonderful woman. Everyone loved Peg! I still remember her jokes and the funny stories she told when we hung out at Kiki's in Point O Woods. She called me after my father (Walter) passed away and we had a great conversation reminiscing about her life growing up in New Britain and her friendship with the Sullivan family. I was so grateful for that phone call and I learned more from her than I did from my own family!
My heart goes out to you and the rest of the Meotti family.

So sorry to hear the news of your mother's passing, Mike (and family). Losing the person who knew you even before you were born is hard, even if you knew it was coming. I hope that the celebration of her life and your time with family allows for some healing. All the best to you and your entire family during this difficult time. Ellen Bzomowski (Mainstay/AdmitHub)

I am so sorry for your loss Michael. I remember meeting Peg at Democratic functions. She was an Irish winner! You and family members will have many loving, funny, warm memories and carry her love with you now that she has transitioned to heaven where I’m sure she belongs. I just saw this obituary (Jan 3 9:17 am) so was unable to get to calling hours in time. Wished it was different.

The Meotti family knows how much I loved and respected Peg. From the first I met Peg when I moved to Glastonbury in !985, I was captured. She so impressed me, that her spill over good will started Mike at third base with me and many others I am sure,
Many of us strongly supported Mike's impressive public service career appreciating the "Peg" values he carried within him, I went so far as to get my law firm (Shipman & Goodwin) to appreciate that our deeply established firm needed to have someone who met S&G's strict academic profile requirements come aboard to lend us his political acumen and high values.
Peg, as much as anybody I've ever met, exemplified every day two characteristics by which I have tried to live my own life: kindness, with strength. Peg could not be more filled with kindness, but when it became time to protect those not experiencing the kindness all of us deserve, Peg “took no prisoners”.
Mike and the rest of the family know how blessed they are, by nature and nurture, to possess and live by those same core values. I will always miss Peg Meotti, but will also keep within me what she modeled -- with her grace and great humor.
With gratitude,
Jim Bergenn.

The best Christmas Eve celebrations were hosted by Peg and Joe Meotti. They had a big family and it was an opportunity to be with a lot of my cousins. I grew up with a small family, so to be surrounded by an abundance of good food, family and cousins and hearing Peg’s infectious laughter was the highlight of the evening! I live out of state, but kept in touch with Peggy and was in awe of her memory especially at her age. She will be greatly missed!
