Obituary of Andrew Draghi, II
Dr. Andrew Draghi II, 55, of Glastonbury, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born on August 18, 1970, in Hartford, he was the son of the late Andrew and Audrey Mary (Vibberts) Draghi. Andy was a 1989 graduate of Glastonbury High School and continued his education at Central Connecticut State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1995. He completed his doctorate in Pathobiology from UConn in 2006. After completing his postdoctoral training at the NEAG Cancer Center, the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, he pursued a successful career at Pfizer, Standard BioTools, and Sony Biotechnology, Inc.
While Andy’s expertise was rooted in laboratory settings, he had a vibrant connection to the outdoors. His gardens were always expansive and beautiful, reflecting his deep appreciation for nature, which extended to the ocean, astronomy, and meteorology. He cherished spending time with family, hosting a farmer’s breakfast on Thanksgiving morning, camping, attending Yankees games, and enjoying authentic Italian food.
He is survived by his children, Helena Draghi, Zola Draghi, and Andrew Draghi III; his brother, John A. Draghi of South Glastonbury; his sister, Lois McDermott of Glastonbury; his sister, Leslie Muszynski, and brother-in-law, Todd Muszynski of Lyme; his nephew, Will McDermott; his niece, Lindsay Hayes; close family friend Donna Richards Walstedt; mother of his children, Jen Turey along with many other cousins, aunts, and close friends. The family would like to thank Sara Draghi Moore and her husband, Andy Moore; Steve and Kadji Anderson; and Lisa Valente Fagan for their support.
