Obituary of Albert Karam
Albert Karam, 97, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025. He was the husband of Gleora (Davis) Karam.
Born in New Britain, Albert was the son of the late John and Nanajan (Kanish) Karam. Al was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Al worked his entire career in the banking industry in Hartford. Al was widely known and respected in the banking and business community for his skills in shaping and running bank operations on both large and small scales.
Al was a devoted family man and fiercely loyal to his friends. He was always very active whether playing golf, working in his yard or tending to his vegetable garden. Al was always someone you could depend on to lend a hand and help people in need.
Al liked to fix things. This included small equipment, things around the house, or during his “retirement” any of the various places he worked at. He possessed a quick wit, an engaging personality, and very caring for the people close to him. When anyone left to go home after visiting with him, his parting words were “Be safe!”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey P. and Lynn Karam of Norwich, CT, Douglas J. and Jean Karam of Salem, MA, his daughter and son-in-law Susan K. and James Curry of Stamford, CT, his grandchildren Aidan Karam, Emily Black, David Karam, Abigail, Kathryn and Shane Curry, his great grandchildren Emmett and Austin Black and Maximo Karam. Albert was predeceased by his first wife Philena (Wilcox) Karam, his two brothers Paul and Abner, and his two sisters Rose and Susan.
