Obituary of John Ultee

John Arnold Ultee, 72, of Groton, died on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Lawerence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Born on January 16, 1953 in Lafayette, IN to the late Casper Jan and Lorraine (Brower) Ultee, he was a longtime resident of Glastonbury. John always loved the CT River and spent much time boating, fishing and exploring. He was a dog lover and worked with the Humane society, opening his heart and home to many dogs in need. He is survived by his brother Gary Ultee, of New Jersey, his sisters Linda Ultee, of New York, and Carol Baglioni and her husband Adriano of CT, his Aunt Magda Jacobs-Ultee of CT, nephews Kyle and Adam Ultee, both of TX, Hans Nisthaus of NY, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins in The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 1 pm in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CT Humane Society - cthumane.org.
