Obituary of Sandra Lee Procaccini

With love and gratitude, we remember the life of Sandra Lee Taylor Procaccini, 78, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Glastonbury, CT who passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. She was the devoted wife of Donald Paul Procaccini, and together they shared more than 62 years of marriage, family, and partnership in both life and business.

Born on February 21, 1947, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Williard Lewis Taylor and Stella DeAngelis Taylor.  She was also predeceased by her beloved step-father John T. Coughlin.  After growing up in East Hartford, she made her home in Glastonbury, where she and Don owned Gino’s Pizza and later Procaccini’s Italian Family Restaurant both of East Hartford. She poured her heart into those businesses, working tirelessly and welcoming the community with her warm hospitality.

Sandra loved to travel, especially to Italy. Her journeys there were special—one with her mother, and a cherished trip with her husband, brother, Jim, his wife, Pam. But her greatest joy was always her family.

She was endlessly proud of her children: Jeanette Taylor (and her partner, Robert Juliano), Donald P. Procaccini, Jr. (and his partner, Eliza Speakman), and Gregg Procaccini (and his wife, Melissa). She was predeceased by her dear son, Jeffrey.

Her grandchildren—Nathan (and wife Caitlyn), Spencer, Jeffrey, Jacob, and Bryan—brought her endless happiness. They remember their “Nonni” as someone who would go anywhere, do anything, and cheer for them at every event… even if sometimes she accidentally cheered for the wrong team!

Sandra’s family also includes her loving brothers, Dennis (Pat) Taylor and James (Pam) Taylor, along with cousins, many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her.

Known as a fabulous cook and entertainer, Sandra’s legendary “Monday Night Dinners” were filled with laughter, love, and plenty of food—always with room for one more at the table. She will also be remembered as the sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend who never missed a birthday, celebrating each one with cards, fanfare, and her special touch.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, with visitation from 9:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. (www.stjude.org)
