Obituary of Rocco L. Mancini
Rocco (“Rock”) Mancini, 58, of Glastonbury, passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms at home on April 9, 2025. Rocco Mancini was born on March 22, 1967, in Hartford, Connecticut. Rock grew up in West Hartford and enjoyed a great childhood defined by his loving Italian family, extended family, and many great groups of friends. Rock moved to Glastonbury, Connecticut where he created the farmhouse of his dreams with his incredible wife, Heather Mancini. Rock was an educator at heart, an avid reader, a lover of music, a master of the English language and a collector of cherished items. Rock’s passion for landscaping and gardening was very evident at their home, where there was not a blade of grass out of place. Though his family was small, Rock put his all into the ones he loved and always preached and demonstrated the importance of a strong and loving family. Rock was happiest when playing his drums, cooking the best Italian meals for anyone who came over, and spending countless hours out in the garden. Rock loved teaching his students and did all he could to make his classes fun and exciting by translating his love of learning to each and every student. Rock had the most kind and generous soul and easily made meaningful connections with everyone he knew and met throughout his life. Rock loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, Heather, who shared a deep love with him and cared for him throughout his health challenges. They shared many memories including testing out local vineyards, going out to eat by the shore, and always getting breakfast after Sunday Mass. Rock was devoted to his daughter Emma Mancini and shared his love and pride of her with everyone he met, expressing how proud of her he was to go to college and to study medicine. Emma will miss their constant laughs, dates to go get food, and long drives. Rock will be greatly missed by his wife Heather, his daughter Emma, his father Carmen, his in-laws Mary and Michael Cross and his sister-in-law Catherine Sikorski (Donald) and their sons Kevin (Greg) and Kyle. Rock was predeceased by his mother Maria Mancini and his Nonnies Angela Longo and Vittoria Mancini. His wake will be held on Tuesday, April 15 from 4-6pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00am at SS. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Paul’s Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. In lieu of donations and in honor of how Rock lived his life, pick up a good book, make a meaningful connection, show your kindness to others, listen to a favorite tune, plant your vegetables, love your family, and stop by your favorite hot dog stand – he will be with you in spirit.
