Obituary of William Manuck, Jr.
William "Bill" Manuck, Jr., 76, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Anita (Graph) Manuck, passed away at his home in Palm City, Florida on Saturday, March 22nd. He was born in Hartford on September 13, 1948, to the late William and Kathryn (Markoich) Manuck, Sr.
Bill grew up in East Hartford and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. After being discharged from the service he worked for National Cash Register, until starting his own business called Paper Roll Supplies. His leadership and knowledge of the paper roll and point of sale industry was remarkable. His business legacy will continue with daughter Julie, and son-in-law Benjamin.
Bill was a long-time member of the Glastonbury Lions Club, Woodledge Pool Club, and Glastonbury Hills Country Club. He coached Hartwell Soccer for his children and was an avid tennis player at the Glastonbury Tennis Club, He also enjoyed skiing at Okemo Mountain in Vermont with friends and family. Bill will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, loving and generous person. He dedicated his time to several medical and dental missions to Honduras. His commitment towards helping others was so heartwarming and admirable.
He was also a huge fan of both the Men's and Women's UCONN basketball teams. In his later years, Bill enjoyed being a member of Harbor Ridge Yacht Country Club in Palm City Florida. He acquired a passion for golf and bridge. Bill and Anita were able to enjoy traveling and exploring many different countries but their favorite trips were with their grandchildren to national parks, Alaska and Italy. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren at home and on many sports fields.
Besides his wife Anita, Bill is survived by his daughter Julie and her husband Benjamin Campbell, daughter Kathryn and grandchildren Lilyana, Charlotte, Jeffrey, Isaac and Sydney. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey. He also leaves behind his sisters and brothers Joann Robertson and her husband James of Watertown, John Manuck and wife Donata of Niantic, Alexander Manuck and wife AnnMarie of South Windsor and Sandra Darna and her husband Dave of Punta Gorda Florida. Additionally, Bill leaves behind nieces and nephews, Tracy Manuck, Bryan Robertson, Christine Manuck, Elizabeth Robertson, Brendon Darna, Kevin Manuck, Adam Darna and Lauren Manuck, and several great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:00 am in SS. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997.
