CROSSING THE BAR
Christine Polk
For Pete: wonderfully kind, confident, and fun to be with, as a special friend and sailing buddy.
Crossing the bar. Out to sea.
Contained no more, you’re transformed and free.
Now through the struggles and waters rough,
your body’s work is done. It has had enough.
Your land-life has been both full and strong,
and now you have gone to where you belong.
To the ocean of oneness with the eternal tide,
and your spirit stays with us, that hasn’t died.
You are in the expanse of the sea and the swells,
where both confidence and kindness always dwell.
You are the energy of the wind that blows.
You are the strength to lighten our woes.
The salty wind will blow free everywhere.
You are there. Timeless. The circle of love to share.

As part of the men’s morning coffee group( Pete, Joe, Keith, Charlie etc.) that met at Panera’s every morning before they all went off to work back in the day Pete was always ready for a debate! It was quite a tradition these guys had for many years! My husband Keith would fill me in on some of the discussions that took place be it sports or politics most every subject was covered over the years! It was quite special that they kept the tradition going for so many years!
I am sending my heartfelt sympathy to to you all, I so sorry for your loss!

Sorry for your loss. Peter was a wonderful husband, father and brother.
May he rest in peace. Hope he and Kevin are sharing laughs.
