I met Kate during 2015-2016 Yoga Teacher Training, and enjoyed studying Yoga with her as well as many visits to her home in Manchester and several adventures in Maine. I was so impressed by her outgoing and enthusiastic nature, and also her courage and bravery throughout her illness. I was deeply touched by the incredible care she was given by Chris, who is an inspiration for the rest of us. My heart goes out to all of her family, especially to her parents and Chris and Cocoa, I am so sorry for your loss.

Katie, seeing your beautiful picture with your smiling, healthy face brings me tears of mixed feelings. It’s how I remember you back in college - the happy, strong young woman I knew. You were a really kind and generous friend. I was so lucky to have found another non-wild, non-party girl to be with who could still have fun. We loved French culture and language together. Even then, you always had the support of your wonderful family and Chris. Wow, thank goodness for them. I didn’t get to know your family, but I am grateful to them for the friendship you gave me. I am glad you are not in pain now. I wish you and all your loved ones peace. Love, Valerie

I supervised Kate when she was a law student participating in a clinic at Western Mass Legal Services in Springfield. She was a wonderful person, lawyer, and legal thinker, and I clearly remember her excellent work representing a low-income client at a fair hearing. My condolences to all of her family and friends, to whom her devotion was clear.

Kate will be dearly missed! Kate and I became friends when we spent the year together in Paris, France during undergrad at UConn. What wonderful times we got to spend together since then!
Kate was so outgoing and active, generous and caring, determined, fun and funny, fashion-savvy, and just an all-around great friend. Being her friend enriched my life in so many ways and will continue to do so. Whether it was taking her yoga class;(attempting) to keep up with her while doing the "8 minute abs" video (haha!), going swimming in her pool, having midnight breakfast and game night, going to the spa, getting our families together for "meeting of the moms aka Mamapalooza", taking a stroll on the ocean boardwalk, having a barbecue, watching movies, or just being together, we have had so many fun times that I will never forget.
Kate was really a rare find of a friend. Even despite her long battle with cancer, which could understandably shift a person's focus and available energy, she was still so thoughtful of others. She lent me her car when I was moving to DC, gave me so many of her clothes (still always getting compliments on those!), let me crash at her place any time, and hosted a party for me at her house when I finished my doctorate.
I could really go on forever here about Kate. I am just really grateful for having had the privilege of being Kate's friend and for knowing her husband, puppy, family and friends as well. I am sending everyone who knew Kate a big virtual hug, because I know she means so much to you too.
