Obituary of Virginia Munns

Virginia (Aselton) Munns, 88, of Glastonbury passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Born in Springfield MA, she was the widow of Robert J. Munns, daughter of the late Gordon G. and Alice (St. Germain) Aselton and sister of the late Gordon Jr. and Peter Aselton.

Virginia worked as a Window Designer and Clothing Buyer in the retail industry for many years. She took great pleasure in creating the Christmas displays at Sage Allen department store in Hartford and was also the owner of a women’s clothing store, The Armoire in Glastonbury. Affectionately known as “MéMé” to all, she loved spending time with her family, playing the game of tennis and was always up for a competitive game of pitch or poker at any time or steal the pack with her grandchildren. MéMé was a fabulous interior decorator who was always there with paint, window treatments and flowers to beautify every family member or friend’s new home. Throughout her lifetime Virginia spent her years in Glastonbury CT, Clearwater, FL and Cape Cod, MA, all places she loved for both the memories and friends she made along the way.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Kim Kupecky and husband Lenny of Old Saybrook, CT and her sons Kevin Munns and wife Susan of Westerly, RI., Paul Munns and wife Debbie of Columbia, CT, and her daughter-in-law Janine Munns of Clearwater, FL. Virginia now joins her loving son David, who predeceased her in 2017.  MéMé was a loving grandmother and will be missed by her grandchildren David Kupecky and wife Joyce, Suzy Sutch and husband Adam, Lauren Munns, Catie Munns Feeney and husband John, Rory Munns and wife Hailey, Kyle Munns and wife Lauren, Gabrielle Munns and Elizabeth Munns. She enjoyed four beautiful great-grandchildren Benjamin & Eli Sutch and Natalie & Harrison Munns. She also made a special place in the heart for Brook, Paige, Nick and Landon and her dearest friends Kathy and Al Calvi.
