Obituary of Elizabeth A. "Betty" Petrowsky
Elizabeth (Betty) Petrowsky, 76, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 21st surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on April 11, 1945 in New London, CT to Tom and Edna Drea. She leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty three years, Jan Petrowsky; four children: Kerrin Petrowsky and his partner Samantha DeRubis; Leigh Ann Petrowsky and her partner Christopher Carrigg; Courtney Parmelee and her husband Dave; Ryan Petrowsky and his wife Becky; seven grandchildren: Alexis Petrowsky, Avery, Tess, and Bryn Parmelee, Landen, Spencer, and Ruby Petrowsky; her sister: Kathleen Fratalli and husband Tony; sisters-in-law and husbands: Kathy Shea, Joanne and Tony Polcaro, Karen and Rick Jenks and six nieces and nephews. Betty exuded positivity, an incredible sense of humor, and an easy going nature. As a social butterfly, she loved people and being in the company of those that meant the world to her. For approximately thirty years, Betty was a cherished member of the Hebron Avenue School staff. Being the life of the party in the school office and making her colleagues laugh was a regular part of her daily routine. Telling countless stories about the many students of Hebron Avenue School was a nightly part of the Petrowsky dinner table. In addition, for over forty years, over a cup of coffee or two, Betty spent every afternoon with her neighborhood friends that meant the world to her. These friends and those coffee hours had a lasting impact on her life and meant everything to her. Talking on the phone with all of her children, sister, and sisters-in-law was a regular part of her daily routine and the part of the day she most looked forward to. Betty’s spirit, incredible sense of humor, love for life, and endless support will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be Friday, August 27 from 4-6pm at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, August 28th at 10:00 am at Ss.
