Obituary of Faye Mitchell

Faye J. (Gantnier) Mitchell, 85, of Glastonbury, beloved wife for 62 years of Philip E. Mitchell passed away peacefully April 23, 2017 at St Francis Hospital. Born May 27, 1931 in Benedicta, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Annie (Dubay) Gantnier. She was a mother and homemaker and volunteered for Child and Family Service Thrift Store and Glastonbury Family YMCA, as well as parishioner of St. Dunstan for many years. Faye will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, a son John, a daughter Juanita and husband James Dutton and son James and wife Dori, all of Glastonbury. Six adored grandchildren, Jessica, Justin and wife Nicole, Ashley, Philip, Drew, Kristin and a great grandchild, Logan. Faye is survived by sisters Modeste Deskus of Denver, NC and Elsie Karen of Rocky Hill, CT. She was predeceased by brothers Joseph, Thomas, Phillip and sisters Mary, Leah, Phoebe and Rita. Faye also leaves dozens of nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Jeannine Carini of Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10am at St. Dunstan’s Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1318 Hebron Ave Glastonbury. Family and friends may call at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4pm – 7pm.
