Ray also enjoyed spending time in New York City, taking in Broadway musicals and eating out. He grew up loving ice hockey, and with his family, was a long time season ticket holder of the Hartford Whalers. Upon retirement in 2003, Ray spent winters in sunny Fort Lauderdale, enjoying the beach, bike rides, eating almond croissants at the French Bakery and hosting dinner parties with good friends.
