Obituary of Robert A. Cataldo

Robert A. Cataldo, 85, of Glastonbury formerly of Revere, MA, husband of Joan (Flaherty) Cataldo, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. Born July 13, 1931 in Boston, MA, son of the late Orlando and Theresa (Decarlo) Cataldo, he had lived in Massachusetts moving to Glastonbury four years ago. Bob was known for his great charm and sense of humor, and was beloved by family and friends. He was affectionately known as “Bob the Cat”, “Big Daddy” and “Papa”. He had many interests in life but his greatest was his love of horses and for many years raced horses as an owner at Suffolk Downs in Revere, Mass and other racetracks in the northeast. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by his four children and their spouses; Lynn and Anthony Bova of Woburn, MA, Robert E. Cataldo of Boston, MA, Janet and Vincent Pugliese of Glastonbury, Bruce and Judy Cataldo of Derry, NH, a brother Fred Cataldo and his wife Sue of Kalamazoo, MI, nine grandchildren Anthony Bova, Stephanie O’Neil and her husband Michael, Leanne Bova, Lauren Cole and her husband Michael, Crystal Morales-Cataldo, Vincent Pugliese, Nicole Pugliese, Zachary Pugliese, Brianna Cataldo and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Cataldo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday Sept. 20 at 11am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury (everyone please meet directly at church). Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Monday, Sept. 19 from 5-7pm.
